Stacie Chen is a doctoral student in the Bioengineering Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, and joined the Bioengineering department here in 2013. Her research interests revolve around applying engineering and computational tools to tackle biomedical challenges such as cancer and drug resistance. For her doctoral thesis, she is developing a system with nanosensors that allows multiplexed protein quantification on single live cells. Her long-term goal is to predict drug response using these quantitative data and computational models.
